Acting Principal Madigan Named FCPS 2020 Region 2 Outstanding School-based Leader!
Congratulations to Acting Principal Katie Madigan who was recognized as the FCPS 2020 Region 2 Outstanding School-based Leader and one of five finalists for the 2020 Outstanding School-based Leader Award!
Katie has dedicated her career to ensuring all students learn at the highest levels. In her time at Glasgow, she led a schoolwide instructional shift at the largest middle school in Virginia to a student-centered model to best support students’ diverse needs. She co-developed and implemented a schoolwide walkthrough system that provides regular, targeted feedback and coaching for every teacher, coach, and administrator. As a result, Glasgow’s SOL scores rose from accredited-with-warning status to full accreditation, with growth across every subgroup. Katie believes to her core that high-quality instruction is fundamental to equity and that strong collaboration is how schools serve students best. She leads through building others’ capacity, forging strong relationships, and seeking and growing from feedback.
