Congratulations to Ms. Kim Marin on being recognized as the January 2022 FCPS Cares Recipients of the Month for Region 2 by the Department of Human Resources. Congratulations, Ms. Marin!

Below is the write up submitted by Ms. Katherine Lafreniere, a colleague at Glasgow MS.

As a first year teacher Kim Marin is an incredible asset to the Glasgow community. She has created a trusting and safe space inside her classroom walls. Many of the students come to her "just to talk". During lunch duty yesterday, one of her students told me "Ms. Marin is pretty cool. She really listens to me."  She fosters strong connections just by simply listening to the diverse and remarkable stories our students bring to our school community. Over the winter break Kim organized a drive at her local church to provide food and gift cards for over 100 families at Glasgow. Her room is a popular "check in" spot for many of our students before the morning bell. Everyday brings on a new challenge, but Kim models for her students and colleagues that relationships, trust, and willingness to listen come first. We are incredibly lucky to have her at Glasgow.
